Rather than ignore it or work around it, the customer was advised to contact Cadent so the meter handle issue could be dealt with properly. This is a good example of why a boiler service is not just about the boiler itself. The surrounding gas supply, access and safety controls all matter too.
Once Cadent had been contacted, the customer could get the ECV issue sorted safely and correctly.

As part of the visit, our engineer carried out the service checks that could be completed safely, including a fan pressure test, filter clean and expansion vessel recharge.
Cleaning the filter helps remove dirt and debris from the system, supporting better water flow and helping protect the boiler. Recharging the expansion vessel is also important because it helps the heating system manage pressure properly when the boiler is in use.
